COMPUTER ASSISTANT

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions,Clerical and Administrative Positions, GS-0335-09 Computer Clerk and Assistant Series. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE CURRENT/FORMER FEDERAL EMPLOYEES:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes applying knowledge of computer equipment, internal computer processes, application, utility programs, and magnetic media to install and maintain applications; programming knowledge of computer techniques, requirements, sources, and procedures; administering analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, taking corrective actions to resume normal operations; implementing procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved; providing assistance with elements of programming, systems analysis, and equipment operations; maintaining current system software, operating system and application software packages; troubleshooting and resolving problems with information systems equipment to include minicomputers, microcomputers scanners, printers and modems; diagnosing and resolving problems with telecommunications and Local Area Network systems to carry out assignments; operating aircraft maintenance practices and procedures. Successfully completed 2 years of graduate level education in a field directly related which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position such as Computer Science and Computer Engineer type education. NOTE:

Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR APPLICANTS WITH NO PRIOR FEDERAL SERVICE:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of DoD and the agency automated data processing and networking standards, policies, and techniques. Knowledge of computer hardware and software and their interfaces. Knowledge of higher level programming languages comparable to COBOL and FORTRAN and job control languages. Knowledge of data content and output options for a variety of administrative, scientific and/or technical program applications that are processed on any of several multi-program operating systems. Knowledge of facility environment and infrastructure to support computer systems. Ability to use and maintain a computer system, equipment, and software; analyze computer network, software, and hardware problems, and develop effective and economical solutions. Ability to train users on new computer systems and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID
Experience:
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
