SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST


Qualifications:
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346 SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of DoD, Air Force and Command regulations, policies, and procedures affecting logistics management and program analysis functional areas, and the ability to apply directives and process requirements to the full range of conventional work assignments affecting major program areas. Knowledge and skill to apply conventional methods of gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information concerning program operations in order to draw conclusions and recommend appropriate action. Knowledge and skill to apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to carry out conventional work in support of major logistics management and program analysis projects or studies. Knowledge of logistics support activities in order to identify, plan, and coordinate specific requirements for funding, manpower, material facilities and/or services- to assigned studies or projects. Knowledge of program management, operation, and support activities in order to complete assignments for specific program and project initiatives. OR EDUCATION:
Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. NOTE:

A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. NOTE:
You must submit a copy of transcripts. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Air Force missions, programs and activities, to include Air Force program, planning, funding and management information systems. Knowledge of logistics management policies, procedures, and practices. Knowledge of program analysis policies, methods, and processes, to include plaoning, analyzing, and evaluating the effectiveness of operating programs. Ability to identify requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities, equipment, tools, communications and services. Ability to analyze and evaluate methods and techniques to assess program operations and develop solutions. Highly skilled interpersonal communicating both verbal and written, with ability to respond in a positive manner on controversial subjects, ability to answer questions under pressure, and ability to conduct public meetings or hearings in a formal setting. Ability to work harmoniously with all levels of personnel within the organization and outside the organization. Thorough knowledge in analyzing user requirements and skills in developing and implementing goals and objectives for program management of large scale O & M contracts dealing with a wide variety of facilities maintenance in support of aircraft maintenance. Ability to identify, analyze, and develop alternative solutions to complex organizational, manpower, and personnel problems, funding and acquisitions. Must be computer literate, familiar with AF computer systems G0-81, CAMS and personal computer software such as Power Point, Excel, and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of analytical reasoning processes and the ability to develop and evaluate wide ranging aircraft maintenance programs for implementation of the business management philosophy for achieving contract program goals and objectives. High degree of analytical ability to correlate and analyze a variety of aircraft maintenance data, draw conclusions and devise solutions to complex aircraft maintenance support problems. Ability to plan, schedule, and take corrective action to meet emergency and regular workload requirements. Ability to interpret aircraft maintenance guidance, 21 Series Air Force Instructions (AF ), maintenance terminology, and instructions, to relate them properly to the particular problem solving project and maintain effective follow-up. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
